Out of the designer monotony
The Slovenian Elan shipyard has parted company with its designers and is fully focussing on the owner's market with the Elan 36 as the second type in a new line. We tested a yacht on the IJsselmeer which, despite its large sail area, doesn't mind a capful of wind and is easy to handle by a crew of two despite its sporting ambitions.

The Elan 36 is a robust cruising yacht that clearly demonstrates the sporting flair of designer Humphreys with good sailing performance. With a price of just over 200,000 marks, it is in the mid-range of the competition. The 36 is primarily aimed at owner-operators. She is easy to handle for two, but thanks to the two spacious aft cabins she also offers enough space for a crew of six.
